What is SMAC&SHOP? 

 

SMAC&SHOP is SMAC’s mobile app. With the app, members can: 

  • Earn & pay with points using your Virtual SMAC, even without your physical card  
  • Track their points and transaction history 
  • Track their Road to SMAC Prestige 
  • Get exclusive app vouchers that they can use in the store  
  • Shop online 

How do I download the SMAC&SHOP app?

The SMAC&SHOP app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.

What is a SMAC Virtual Card or a Virtual SMAC? 

 

  • The SMAC Virtual Card or Virtual SMAC is the digital counterpart of a physical loyalty membership card.  
  • All members who register for an online account will be issued a Virtual Card/Virtual SMAC. 
  • A Virtual SMAC can be used to earn and redeem points. 

Can I use my Virtual SMAC even if I don’t have internet connection? 

Yes.  

Go to Account and enable the ‘View Virtual Card without Login’ button 

Your Virtual SMAC will then be available even if you don’t have an internet connection/ offline  

Can I use my virtual SMAC when there’s 3Day Sale? 

Yes.  

Step 1: Click the ‘SMAC QR’ (middle button) at the bottom navigation bar of your home screen. 

Step 2: Choose ‘CARD QR’ 

Step 3: Present to the cashier for scanning. 

Step 4: 3 Day Sale SMAC discount will apply. 

Do I have to present my physical card for points earning if I presented the virtual SMAC for discounts? 

No need to present your physical card. The virtual SMAC is the digital version of your physical card.  

Once scanned, it will trigger both the discount and the awarding of regular points. 

What’s the difference between the ‘Mobile App QR’ and ‘Card QR’ 

Mobile app QR is for virtual SMAC promos (Example: Earn +25 points when you present your virtual SMAC at the SM Store with an MPR of P3,000).  

Card QR, on the other hand, is for 3 Day Sale discounts. 

Both may be used for points earning. 

Is it ok to use a picture or screenshot of my virtual SMAC? 

No, only the virtual SMAC from the mobile app are accepted.  

There are promos that might not work if a screenshot or a picture is presented.  

To ensure we extend the best experience to our members, we should always accept the one from the member’s mobile app.  

 

CARD LINKING

What is card linking? 

Card linking is the merging of loyalty membership accounts. 

You can link your physical SMAC to your virtual SMAC so you can still earn points even without your physical card. 

What loyalty cards can I link? 

You may link the following:

  • SMAC Start 
  • SMAC  
  • SMAC Prestige  
  • Ace Rewards 
  • The Body Shop Love Your Body Club 
  • Baby Company MOM  

How do I link my card? 

Step 1: Go to ‘Manage Cards’ from the Home screen 

Step 2: Click on ‘Link Card’ 

Step 3: Input the card number of the card you’re linking 

Step 4: Confirm by clicking ‘Link your Card’ 

Step 5: Input the OTP sent to the registered mobile number of the card you’re linking. 

Step 6: A confirmation message will appear that you’ve successfully linked the card.

What happens to my accounts once they are linked? 

 

Points of all linked accounts shall be merged into a single wallet.  
The balance in the single wallet will be reflected across all linked physical cards. 

The currency of all linked points becomes SMAC Points.  
 
Account records shall be combined including member information, purchase and points transactions and history.  

Can I link more than one SMAC to my online account? 

Yes.  
The Virtual SMAC to be displayed will always be the highest SMAC tier. 

Will I get notified if a card is linked to my account? 

No. The owner of the card being linked will receive an OTP via the registered mobile number. 

When will my spending be updated once I link a card? 

Your spending will be updated the following day. 

Will card specific benefits be extended to all my cards if they are linked to one account?  

No, card specific benefits are not shared across all linked cards. 

What are the possible reasons why I can’t link my membership account? 

  1. You have not activated your membership account via SMS. 
  2. Your membership is more than 90 days expired. 
  3. You have a SMAC issued to you for free by Chinabank. 
  4. You don’t have a registered mobile number or it’s not updated. 
  5. You have an unclaimed SMAC Prestige account. 
  6. You already have a previously created online account. 

 

VOUCHERS

What are SMAC&SHOP vouchers? 

 

SMAC&SHOP vouchers are vouchers that you can exclusively get from the app, which you can redeem in-store. There are different types of vouchers: 

  1. SMAC Welcome Vouchers 
    • Bonus points vouchers that you can collect 
    • Exclusive to new SMAC members who signed-up/ registered through the app 
  2. Welcome Vouchers for SMAC Start 
    • Bonus points vouchers that you can use instore 
    • Exclusive to new SMAC members who signed-up/ registered through the app 
  3. Welcome Vouchers for SMAC/ Prestige 
    • Discount, bonus points, or freebie vouchers that you can use instore 
    • You can get this when you link a physical card to your virtual SMAC in the app 
  4. Birthday Vouchers  
    • Discount, bonus points, or freebie vouchers that you can use instore 
    • Awarded to members celebrating their birth month (loaded 1st and 15th of the month i.e. new members who are celebrating their birth month after these dates will get the vouchers on their next birthday) 

How do I know if I have a voucher? 

From the home screen, click on the ‘Vouchers’ tab on the upper right side. You will be redirected to the vouchers page. 

How do I use these vouchers? 

  1. From the voucher page, click ‘view’ on the voucher that you like to use 
  2. Click on ‘Show barcode’. 
  3. Present this screen to the cashier and they will scan your virtual SMAC with the voucher barcode. 

Can I still earn points when I use these vouchers? 

Yes, members can still earn points once the virtual SMAC is scanned. 

Can I use multiple vouchers in 1 transaction? 

Please check the vouchers details page, some vouchers may not be used in conjunction with any other offer. 

Can I use the voucher multiple times? 

No, vouchers are for one-time use only. Once the voucher has been used, it will move to the ‘Used’ tab within 2-3 minutes. 

If I screenshot the voucher, will that be accepted? 

No, only vouchers/ promo barcodes in the SMAC&SHOP app are valid. 

Can I use my SMAC to earn points and use someone else’s voucher? 

No, each voucher is tagged to a specific trigger (registration, card linked or birthday) which is done by a specific member. If the voucher and the SMAC don’t match, the voucher will not be tagged as used. 

Can I show my physical card and the voucher on my phone? Will the cashier accept? 

No, you need to use your virtual SMAC in the voucher page.
